Sonim XP8 - Manage Hotspot Settings

Here's how to configure the hotspot settings (e.g., password, network name, timeout settings, etc.) on your Sonim XP8.
  1. Open the
    Settings app
     on your Sonim XP8®.
  2. Navigate:
    Network & Internet
    Tethering & Mobile Hotspot
    .
  3. Tap
    Mobile hotspot
     to configure the following settings:
    • Mobile Hotspot name
    • Security
    • Mobile Hotspot password
      The new password must be entered on the connecting device.
      1. Tap
        Password
        then enter the new password.
      2. Tap
        OK
        .
    • AP Band
      1. Tap
        Advanced
        .
      2. Tap
        AP Band
        .
      3. Select an option (2.4 GHz band or 5 GHz band).
  4. Tap
    Mobile Hotspot Preferences
    .
  5. Tap
    Timeout settings
     then select an option (e.g. Always, Turn off when idle for 5 min, etc.).
