Add / Remove Fingerprint Recognition

Set up fingerprint recognition on your Galaxy A50 for fast, secure access. Remove saved fingerprints when troubleshooting or changing devices.

Before you begin

Steps

  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Navigate:
    Biometrics and security
    Fingerprints
    .
  3. Enter the current PIN, password or pattern.
  4. Do one of the following:
    • For first-time setup:
      1. Follow the onscreen tutorial to scan your fingerprint. Repeat as necessary until the process is complete.
      2. Tap
        Done
        .
      3. Tap the
        Fingerprint unlock switch
         to turn on or off .
    • To add more fingerprints:
      1. Tap
        Add fingerprint
        .
      2. Follow the onscreen tutorial to scan your fingerprint.
      3. When finished, tap
        Done
         or
        Add
         to continue adding fingerprints.
    • To remove fingerprint(s):
      1. Touch and hold the fingerprint to remove or tap
        All
         to delete all saved fingerprints.
      2. Tap
        Remove
        .
      3. To confirm, review the disclaimer then tap
        Remove
        .
