moto z4 - Customize Your Home Screen

Here's how to add / remove Home screen items (widgets, apps or folders) and set the wallpaper on your moto z4.

Add Apps

  1. From a Home screen, swipe up to access all apps.
  2. Touch and hold an app.
  3. Drag the shortcut to the desired Home screen then release.
    For the app to be successfully added, there must be sufficient space within the selected Home screen. If needed, more Home screen panels may be added.

Add Widgets

  1. From a Home screen, touch and hold an empty space.
  2. Tap
    Widgets
     Widgets icon.
  3. Touch and hold a widget.
  4. Drag the widget to the preferred Home screen then release.
    For the widget to be successfully added, there must be sufficient space on the screen. If needed, more Home screen panels may be added.
  5. If applicable, tap additional options to activate widget.
    Options vary depending upon the type of widget.

Add / Remove Folders

  1. From a Home screen, touch and hold a shortcut (e.g. Email).
  2. Drag the shortcut onto another shortcut (e.g. Gmail) then release.
    A folder containing the shortcuts is created (titled Unnamed Folder). To rename the folder:
    1. Tap a folder.
    2. Tap the title bar located at the bottom of the open folder (e.g., Unnamed Folder).
    3. Enter a name then tap the
      Done icon
       .
    To remove a folder, drag the app(s) out of an existing folder until the folder disappears.

Remove Apps / Widgets

  1. From a Home screen, touch and hold the item (e.g., widgets, shortcuts, folders, etc.).
  2. Drag the item to 'Remove' X icon then release.

Set Wallpaper

  1. Touch and hold a blank space on a Home screen.
  2. Tap
    Wallpapers
    .
  3. Select a folder (e.g., My photos, On-device wallpapers, Live Wallpapers, etc.)
  4. Locate then tap the preferred picture.
  5. Tap
    SET WALLPAPER
    .
  6. Choose one of the following:
    • Home screen
    • Lock screen
    • Home screen and Lock screen
