Samsung Galaxy Watch - Switch Paired Phone

Here's how to unpair your Galaxy Watch from your current phone and then pair with a new one.

The steps below only apply when you need to connect your existing Galaxy Watch to a new Android™ smartphone or Apple® iPhone.®.

For activation of a replacement Galaxy Watch, refer to Replace Existing Device.

Before completing the steps below, verify:

your companion Android smartphone has a cellular or Wi-Fi connection.

the watch is charged and powered on

if necessary, Back Up Galaxy Watch to save your data to the Samsung Cloud.

From the watch screen, tap the

Settings app

Tap

General

Tap

Connect to new phone

Review the message then tap

Continue

The watch resets and all data is deleted (takes up to 10 minutes).

Open the

Galaxy Wearable app

on the new companion smartphone.

For iPhone, open the

Samsung Galaxy Watch (Gear S) app

Follow the onscreen prompts to complete activation.

If necessary, refer to Activate / Set Up Device for assistance.
