Add / Remove a Wi-Fi Connection

Connect your Pixel 4 / 4 XL to a visible or hidden Wi-Fi network or remove a saved one. This can help with troubleshooting or make it easier to connect to networks you use.

Steps

  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Navigate:
    Network and internet
    Internet
    .
  3. Ensure the Wi-Fi switch is turned on, then do one of the following:
    • To connect to an available Wi-Fi network:
      1. Tap the preferred network.
      2. Enter the password then tap
        Connect
        .
    • To manually connect to a Wi-Fi network:
      1. Tap
        Add network
         (scroll down if needed).
      2. From the Network name field, enter the applicable SSID.
      3. From the Security field, tap the
        Dropdown menu
        .
      4. Tap the applicable security option (e.g., None, WEP, WPA/WPA2-Personal).
      5. Enter a User name in the Identity field.
      6. Enter the password into the Password field.
      7. Tap
        Advanced options dropdown menu
        . ensure all additional settings (e.g. Proxy, IP Settings, etc.) are configured as needed then tap
        Save
        .
    • To remove a Wi-Fi connection:
      1. Touch and hold the Wi-Fi network.
      2. Tap
        Forget
        .
