Certain pre-installed apps on your Pixel 4 / 4 XL can't be removed. Disabling them can free up space and declutter your device, while enabling them returns functionality.

Before you begin

Disabling an app may cause related apps to malfunction.

Steps

  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Tap
    Apps
    .
  3. Tap
    See all apps
    .
  4. Do one of the following:
    • To disable an app:
      1. Tap the preferred app.
      2. Tap
        Disable
         then tap
        Disable App
        .
        If the Disable option isn't available, tap
        Force stop
         then tap
        OK
        .
    • To enable an app:
      1. Tap
        All apps
        then tap
        Disabled apps
        .
      2. Tap the applicable app then tap
        Enable
        .
