Capture and Share a Picture / Video

Follow these steps to easily capture photos or videos on your Pixel 4 / 4 XL and send them to friends or family, helping you share moments in real time.

Before you begin

To share a picture that you've already taken or a video you've already recorded, refer to Share a Picture / Video from Gallery.

Steps

  1. Open the
    Camera app
    .
  2. Do one of the following:
    • To take a picture:
      1. Tap
        Camera
        .
      2. Aim then tap the
        Capture icon
         to take the picture.
    • To record a video:
      1. Tap
        Video
        .
      2. Aim then tap the
        Record icon
         to begin recording.
      3. When finished recording, tap the
        Stop icon
        .
  3. Tap the image preview in the lower right to view the picture or video.
  4. Tap the
    Share icon
    .
  5. Select one of the available options then enter any additional info needed to send or share the picture or video.
