If your Galaxy Tab A (8.4 inch) drops data connections due to being near a network border, locking onto a specific network can help; however, roaming charges may apply.
  1. Open the

  2. Navigate:
    Connections
    Mobile networks
    Network mode
    .
  3. Select the applicable setting:
    • Global
      : This is the preferred setting for most locations and should only be changed if you experience service issues.
    • LTE
      : This setting should only be selected if you experience service issues in locations that offer multiple network types and only LTE is needed.
    • UMTS
      : This setting should only be selected if you experience service issues in locations that offer multiple network types and only UMTS is needed.
