Formatting an SD card erases all files and readies it for use with your moto g stylus. This helps with troubleshooting or starting fresh with clean storage.

Before you begin

Ensure your smartphone isn't connected to a computer via the USB cable.

Steps

  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Tap
    Storage
  3. From the Portable storage section, select the name of the SD / memory card.
  4. Tap the
    3-dot Menu
    .
  5. Select
    Storage settings
     then tap
    Format
    .
  6. Review the disclaimer then tap
    Format SD Card
     then allow several seconds for the process to complete.
