If you use two phone numbers for messaging on your Pixel smartphone, changing the default helps ensure messages always originate from your preferred line.

Steps

  1. Open the
    Messages app
    .
  2. From the Inbox, tap
    Start chat
    .
  3. From the To field, enter a 10-digit mobile number or a contact name.
  4. From the Text message field, tap the
    Numbered Page icon
    .
  5. Tap the line you want to use to send the message from (e.g., Verizon eSIM).
    This option is only available when a physical SIM card and an eSIM or two eSIMs are activated.
  6. Enter the message, then tap the
    Send icon
    .
