Samsung Galaxy A21 - Customize Your Home Screen

Personalizing the Home screen on your Galaxy A21 makes daily tasks easier. Add, remove, or arrange apps, use widgets, or set a wallpaper that matches your style.

Add Apps

  1. From a Home screen, swipe up from the center of the display to access the apps screen.
  2. Touch and hold an app then tap
    Add to home
    .
  3. Drag and drop the shortcut to the preferred Home screen location.
    For the app to be successfully added, there must be enough space within the selected Home screen.

Add Widgets

  1. From a Home screen, touch and hold an empty space.
  2. Tap
    Widgets
     (at the bottom).
  3. Tap the desired app then touch and hold a widget.
  4. Drag the widget to the preferred Home screen location then release.
    For the widget to be successfully added, there must be enough space on the screen.
  5. If applicable, tap additional options to activate widget.
    Options vary depending upon the type of widget.

Add / Remove Folders

  1. From a Home screen, touch and hold a shortcut (e.g., Email).
  2. Drag the shortcut onto another shortcut (e.g., Calendar) then release.
    A folder containing the shortcuts is created (titled Unnamed Folder). To rename the folder:
    To remove a folder, drag the app(s) out of an existing folder until the folder disappears.
    1. Tap
      Folder Name
       (at the top).
    2. Enter a name for the folder then tap
      Done
       (lower-right).

Remove Apps / Widgets

  1. From a Home screen, touch and hold the item until the menu appears then release.
  2. Tap the applicable option:
    • Select items
    • Remove
    • Disable or Uninstall
      Varies depending on the app.

Set Wallpaper

  1. From a Home screen, touch and hold a blank area.
  2. Tap
    Wallpaper and style
     (lower-left).
  3. Perform one of the following:
    • To use an existing wallpaper image:
      1. Tap
        My wallpapers
        .
      2. Select a wallpaper image from the list.
      3. Select an option (e.g., Home screen, Lock screen, Home and lock screens).
      4. To confirm, tap
        Set on
         (at the bottom).
    • To use an image from your gallery:
      1. Tap
        Gallery
        .
        If prompted, review the location information message then tap
        Allow
        .
      2. Locate then select the preferred picture.
        Selected when checkmark appears.
      3. Tap
        Done
         (upper-right)
      4. Select an option (e.g., Home screen, Lock screen, Home and lock screens).
      5. Tap
        Set on
         (at the bottom).
