Set up fingerprint recognition on your Galaxy A71 5G UW for fast, secure access. Remove saved fingerprints when troubleshooting or changing devices.

Before you begin

Steps

  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Navigate:
    Security and privacy
    Biometrics
    Fingerprints
    .
  3. Enter the current PIN, password or pattern.
  4. Do any of the following:
    • For first-time setup:
      1. Follow the onscreen tutorial to scan your fingerprint. Repeat until the process is complete.
      2. Tap
        Done
        .
      3. Tap the
        Fingerprint unlock switch
         to turn on or off.
    • To add more fingerprints:
      1. Tap
        Add Fingerprint
        .
      2. Follow the onscreen tutorial to scan your fingerprint.
      3. Tap
        Done
         if finished or
        Add
         to continue adding fingerprints.
    • To remove fingerprints:
      1. Touch and hold a fingerprint to remove or tap
        All
         to delete all fingerprints.
      2. Tap
        Remove
        .
      3. To confirm, review the disclaimer then tap
        Remove
        .
