Use facial recognition on your Galaxy A71 5G UW to secure your device and personal info. If you decide to switch methods, you can delete your face data anytime.

Before you begin

Steps

  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Navigate:
    Security and privacy
    Biometrics
    Face recognition
    .
  3. Enter the current PIN, password or pattern.
  4. Do any of the following:
    • For first-time setup:
      1. From the 'Do you wear glasses?' screen, select
        Yes
         or
        No
         then tap
        Continue
        .
      2. While holding the phone 8-20 inches away, position your face within the circle displayed onscreen.
      3. Tap the
        Stay on Lock screen switch
         to turn on or off.
        Once unlocked, remain on the lock screen until you swipe.
      4. Tap
        Done
        .
      5. From the Face recognition menu, tap any of the following switches to turn on or off (e.g., Face unlock, Require open eyes, etc.).
    • To remove face data:
      1. From the Face recognition menu, tap
        Remove face data
        .
      2. To confirm, review the disclaimer then tap
        Remove
        .
