Samsung Galaxy Watch3 - Install System Updates

Here's how to check for and install software updates on your Galaxy Watch3.

Update from an Android Smartphone

  1. Open the
    Galaxy Wearable app
     on the connected Android smartphone.
  2. Tap
    Watch settings
     (lower-left).
  3. Tap
    Watch software update
    .
  4. Tap
    Download and install
    .
  5. If prompted, tap
    Download
    .
    If desired, tap
    Later
     then select a time and tap
    OK
     to install at a later time.
  6. Tap
    Install now
    .
    The software update process may take several minutes to complete.
    The watch will restart during the install process.

Update from an Apple iPhone

  1. Open the
    Samsung Galaxy Watch (Gear S) app
     on the connected iPhone.
  2. From the Home tab, tap
    About watch
    .
  3. If an update is available, tap
    Install
    .
    The software update process may take several minutes to complete.
    The watch will restart during the install process.

Update from the Galaxy Watch3

Only available when the watch is set up as standalone device.
  1. From the watch screen, press the
    Home button
     to open the apps screen.
    Press the Home button
  2. Tap the
    Settings icon
     Settings icon.
  3. Tap
    General
    .
  4. Tap
    Watch software update
    .
  5. If prompted, review the mobile data message then tap the
    Accept icon
     Accept icon.
  6. If an update is available, tap
    Install
    .
    The software update process may take several minutes to complete.
    The watch restarts during the install process.
