LG G Pad 5 10.1 FHD - Manage Hotspot Settings

Here's how to configure the hotspot settings (e.g., password, network name, timeout settings, etc.) on your G Pad 5 10.1 FHD.
  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Navigate:
    Network & internet
    Tethering & Mobile Hotspot
    Mobile Hotspot
    .
  3. From the Mobile Hotspot screen, ensure the switch is turned on.
  4. Tap
    Set up Mobile Hotspot
    .
  5. From the 'Set up Mobile Hotspot' screen, configure the following as needed:
    • Wi-Fi name (SSID)
    • Hide my tablet
    • Security (Open or WPA2 PSK)
    • Password
      The new password must be entered on the connecting device.
      1. Tap the
        Password field
         to remove the existing password.
      2. Enter the new password.
    • Max users
  6. If needed, tap
    Show advanced options
     then configure the following as needed:
    • Broadcast channel:
      1. Check the preferred frequency band (2.4GHz or 5GHz).
        Only one band can be active at a time.
      2. From the dropdown menu, select the preferred Broadcast channel (Auto-select, 1-11).
    • 802.11 Mode (b only, g only, b/g/n).
  7. Tap
    SAVE
    .
  8. Tap
    Manage connections
    .
  9. Tap
    Add to allowed devices
    .
  10. Do one of the following:
    • Choose devices by MAC address:
      1. Tap
        Enter MAC address of the device
        .
      2. Enter the name and MAC address of the device then tap
        SAVE
        .
    • Choose from a list of connected devices:
      1. Tap
        Choose from connected devices
        .
      2. Select the preferred device(s) then tap
        DONE
        .
  11. Tap
    Allow all devices
     to turn on or off.
  12. Tap
    Timeout
     then select the preferred option (e.g., Never timeout, 10 mins, etc.).
