Arris NVG558 Router - Remote Access

Here's how to configure remote access on your NVG558 router.
  1. Sign in to the Admin WebGUI then click
    System
    .
    You must be connected to the network to access the admin page.
  2. From the 'System' tab, click
    Remote Access
    .
  3. Enter a password in the
    Password
     field.
    The password must be at least 8 characters long and include at least two of the following:
    • Alphabetic (letter) characters
    • Numeric (number) characters
    • Special characters (e.g., ! @ # $)
  4. In the 'Port to Use' field, set a custom port number for secure HTTP access to the Gateway.
  5. Click the radio button that describes the type of remote access to allow then click
    Add entry to access list
    :
    • Read-Write
    • Read-Only
  6. Click the
    Enable
     button.
    The remote access client will need to connect to the URL shown on the Remote Access page and will need to log in with the username shown and the password configured when access was enabled.
