Nokia 8 V 5G UW - Add a Virtual Private Network

Here's how to add a virtual private network (VPN) to your Nokia 8 V 5G UW to encrypt your internet traffic and protect your online identity via a secured remote server.
  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Navigate:
    Network & internet
    Advanced
    VPN
    .
  3. Tap the
    Add icon
     Add icon.
  4. If presented with a lock screen notification, tap
    Set lock
    .
    Refer to Enable / Disable / Modify Screen Lock (pattern, PIN or password only) for assistance.
  5. From the Name field, enter the appropriate name.
    Contact the VPN admin for assistance with server info and credentials.
  6. From the Type field, PPTP encryption is selected by default. If another encryption type is preferred, tap the
    dropdown menu
     dropdown menu icon on the right then select the VPN type.
  7. Enter the required info into the applicable fields then tap
    SAVE
    .
  8. If applicable, tap
    Show advanced options
    to configure the following:
    If PPP encryption (MPPE) is the preferred connection, enter the
    Username and Password
    .
    The available options vary depending on the selected VPN type.
    • DNS search domains
    • DNS servers
    • Forwarding routes
    • Proxy
    • Username
    • Password
