Nokia 8 V 5G UW - Manage RTT Settings

Here's how to use the real-time text (RTT) feature on your Nokia 8 V 5G UW.
Real-time text (RTT) is text transmitted instantly as it is typed or created. Recipients can immediately read the message while it is being written, without waiting or the need for an additional device.

Enable / Disable RTT

  1. From a Home screen, tap the
    Phone icon
     Phone icon (lower-left).
    If unavailable, swipe up from a Home screen to access all apps then tap
    Phone
    .
  2. Tap the
    Menu icon
     Menu icon (upper-right) then navigate:
    Settings
    Accessibility
    .
  3. Tap
    Real Time Text (RTT) Call
     to turn on Switch on or off Switch off.
    When RTT is enabled on both devices no audio is heard on the call. If you aren't hearing audio make sure RTT is turned off.

Make a Call with RTT

  1. Tap the
    Phone icon
     Phone icon.
    If unavailable, swipe up from a Home screen to access all apps then tap
    Phone
    .
  2. From the 'Contacts tab', select a contact or enter the 10-digit number.
  3. Tap the
    Call icon
     Call icon.
  4. Once the call connects, tap
    RTT
    .

End an RTT Call

  1. While on a call, tap the
    End icon
     (upper-left) to end the call.
