Samsung Galaxy S21 5G / S21+ 5G / S21 Ultra 5G - Google Backup and Restore

Here's how to ensure your Gmail, contacts, apps, etc. are backed up on your Galaxy S21 5G / S21+ 5G / S21 Ultra 5G.
  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Navigate:
    Accounts and backup
    Back up data
    .
  3. Ensure the
    Backup by Google One switch
     is turned on.
    If turned off, existing backups are deleted from Google's servers.
  4. To change the backup account, tap
    Account storage
     then tap the preferred Google™ (Gmail™) account or tap Add account.
  • Backups can't be restored from a higher Android™ version onto a phone with a lower Android version.
  • When a Google account is added to your phone, previous backups are restored. This can be done by adding an existing Google account to your already active phone or by signing in to the same Google account while setting up your new or reset phone.
