Here's how to turn Android Device Protection for your Galaxy A42 5G on or off.
Find My Device (included with Android™ Device Protection) allows you to remotely locate, lock or erase your smartphone if it's lost or stolen.
  • If you have a Google™ (Gmail™) account on your smartphone / tablet, device protection is automatically turned on. If needed, you can add one.
  • To turn off device protection, remove all Google accounts from the device.
  • Android Device Protection (Kill Switch) prevents unauthorized use of your device by requiring your Gmail address and password to be entered before the device can be set up if it's reset using the alternate reset method.
  • When a trusted reset is performed, device protection isn't enabled.
