If your Android™ device is lost or stolen, remotely performing a factory reset is the best way to prevent unauthorized access to your data by erasing personal information, photos, and files.

Before you begin

In order to remotely erase your device, Find My Device must be previously turned on.

Steps

  1. Sign in to the Find My Device page using your existing Google™ (Gmail™) sign-in info.
  2. Click
    Erase
    .
  3. Review the Erase all data prompt then click
    Erase
    .
    If the device is offline, the reset is performed when it goes online.
