MOTO G PURE - Activate / Set Up Device

These steps guide you through setting up and customizing your moto g pure for everyday use.
If you need to transfer contacts and media from one device to another, follow these step-by-step instructions before activating the new device.
  • To activate the device on prepaid service, refer to Set up Verizon Prepaid Service.
  • Depending on the options selected, some steps may appear in a different order.
  1. If powered off, press and hold the
    Power button
     until the moto logo appears then release.

  2. Select the appropriate language then tap
    START
    .

  3. If presented with the 'Phone Activation' screen, tap
    Next
    .
    If prompted, enter the account PIN then follow the onscreen prompts (see Account PIN FAQs for additional info).
    If activating a new phone, ensure the old phone is powered off.

  4. From the 'Connect to Wi-Fi' screen, select a network then enter the password.

     to add Wi-Fi networks after setup is complete.

  5. Review the Privacy info then tap
    Accept and continue

  6. If you'd like to restore your info from an old device, tap
    Next
     then follow the on-screen options.
    If you'd like a fresh start, tap

    If troubleshooting, choose this option and don't restore the device until all testing has been completed.

  7. Sign in to your existing Google™ account or create a new one.

     to add your Google account after setup is complete.

  8. From the 'Google services' screen, tap any of the switches to turn on Switch on or off Switch off then tap

     (may require scrolling to the bottom).

  9. From the 'Set screen lock' screen, enter lock code then tap

    If desired, tap

     to select alternate screen lock options (e.g., Pattern, Password, etc.).

     to set up a screen lock after setup is complete.

  10. From the 'Verizon Services' screen, tap any of the switches to turn on Switch on or off Switch off then tap
