Arlo Go 2 LTE Security Camera - Check for Physical Damage

Here's how to help determine if your Arlo Go 2 security camera has liquid or other physical damage.
For info regarding potential device damage to your camera, refer to the following:
  • Manufacturer Website: http://www.netgear.com
  • Manufacturer Help Center: http://www.arlo.com/en-us/support/
  • Customer Service Contact Info: (888) 638-4327
If you need to replace your device under warranty and the device has unreasonable wear and tear or any of the following, you could be assessed a damaged device fee. Device damage examples include, but are not limited to:
  • Damaged Ports (e.g., cracked, corrosion, etc.)
  • Physical Button Issues (e.g., a missing or depressed housing release button, etc.)
  • Missing or Damaged (e.g., excessive scratches, cracked, etc.) Camera Lens.
  • Hardware Modifications (e.g., cases that involve opening the case and removing the original housing, aftermarket decorations affixed permanently to the device, etc.)
A hardware modification is any physical change made to the device not performed by the manufacturer or an authorized agent of the manufacturer. Most alterations of this type are cosmetic but involve opening the device case in a way that voids the manufacturer's original warranty and is considered physical damage.
  • Liquid or Corrosion Evidence
    • To prevent damage to the device:
      • If the device gets wet, dry it thoroughly with a clean, soft cloth.
      • Don't expose the device to saltwater or ionized water.
      • Allow the device to air-dry before using it.
      • Physical damage to your device such as chips and cracks can significantly reduce its ability to resist dust and water.
    • To identify if your device has water damage, check for:
      • corrosion, discoloration, or fuzzy growth on the charging port.
      • moisture under the camera lens.
      • Liquid Detection Indicator (LDI) / Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated.
The Arlo Go 2 uses a white field with pink diagonal marks to indicate a device that has had no liquid contact. When the indicator comes in contact with liquid, the marks become pink smudge marks across the white field.

The Liquid Damage Indicator (LDI) is located beneath the battery in the battery compartment. Remove the battery to view the LDI. The battery also has an LDI located on the back with the metal contacts.
