Before you begin

Ensure your files are backed up, then carefully follow the instructions so your data isn't lost.

Steps

  1. Refer to the Windows support article, Recovery options in Windows.
    To keep your apps and files, it's recommended to select
    Restore from a system restore point
     then follow the onscreen instructions.
    If a restore point hasn't been created before this point, select
    Reset your PC
    , choose
    Keep my files
     then follow the onscreen instructions.
  2. If the recovery options presented aren't desired, review the remaining info provided then select the applicable option.
