Sign In Without a Microsoft Account

If you're setting up a new device or just want more privacy, a local Windows® 11 account lets you bypass the Microsoft sign-in requirements and keep your profile completely on your device.

Steps

  1. Open the
    Start menu
    .
  2. Navigate:
    Settings
    Accounts
    .
  3. Select
    Your info
     then choose
    Sign in with a local account instead
    .
  4. If prompted 'Are you sure?', select
    Next
    .
  5. If presented, enter password of current user.
  6. Enter the desired info into the following fields then select
    Next
    .
    • User name
    • Password
    • Re-enter password
    • Password hint
  7. Select
    Next
     then choose
    Sign out and finish
     to complete.
