TCL 30 V 5G - Manage RTT Settings

Here's how to use the real-time text (RTT) functionality on your TCL 30 V 5G.
Real-time text (RTT) is text transmitted instantly as it is typed or created. Recipients can immediately read the message while it is being written, without waiting or the need for an additional device.

Change RTT Visibility

  1. From a Home screen, tap the
    Phone icon
     Phone icon (lower-left).
    If unavailable, swipe screen up to access all apps then tap
    Phone
    .
  2. Navigate:
    Menu icon Menu icon
    Settings
    Accessibility
    .
  3. Tap
    Real Time Text
    .
  4. Tap
    RTT Visibility
     then select from one of the following options:
    • Only During Calls
    • When Placing Calls
  5. After choosing the appropriate setting, tap the
    back arrow icon
     Back arrow icon (upper-left) several times to return to the calling screen.

Make a Call with RTT

  1. If 'When Placing Calls' was selected under the RTT visibility setting, from a Home screen, tap the
    Phone icon
     Phone icon then make a phone call.
    If unavailable, swipe screen up to access all apps then tap
    Phone
    .
    Once the call connects, RTT displays.

Switch a Call to RTT

  1. If 'Only During Calls' was selected under the 'RTT visibility' setting, while on a call, navigate:
    Menu icon Menu icon
    Real Time Text
    .
    Tap More then Show RTT keyboard

End an RTT Call

  1. While on a call, tap the
    End icon
     (at the top) to end the call.
