Activate / Set Up Device

Activate your Galaxy Tab S8+ 5G to get started. This ensures you can connect to the internet.

Before you begin

If using a physical SIM card, make sure a 5G SIM card is inserted into the device before powering on.
If the eSIM profile fails to download, refer to Download and Activate an eSIM after device setup is completed.

Steps

  1. Press and hold the
    Power / Side button
     until the device starts to power on. Select your language then tap
    Start
    .
  2. Review the Terms and Privacy screen then tap
    Agree
    .
  3. From the Tablet activation screen, tap
    Next
    .
  4. To set up your tablet using an old device, select
    Galaxy or Android device
     or
    iPhone or iPad
    . Otherwise, tap
    Set up manually
    .
  5. Connect to a Wi-Fi network.
  6. To copy apps and data, tap
    Next
     to transfer your content now or tap
    Don't copy
    .
  7. Sign in to your Google™ account or create a new one.
  8. Select a screen protection option (e.g., face recognition, fingerprint recognition) then follow the prompts.
    .
  9. Follow the onscreen prompts to review and accept the Google Services option (e.g., Gemini, Location, diagnostic data, etc.).
  10. To allow Verizon Services to collect Location and Apps info, tap
    Accept
    .
  11. Sign in to your existing Samsung account, create a new Samsung account then review Samsung legal info and services.
  12. Tap
    Light
     or
    Dark
     to choose your display mode.
  13. Tap
    Done
     to complete setup.
