Power Up in Safe Mode

Safe Mode is a diagnostic state on your Galaxy S22 / S22+ / S22 Ultra that only runs system apps so you can isolate if a third-party app is causing freezing or slowness.

Before you begin

An alternate method is available if the device can be powered on and is responsive.

Steps

  1. With the device powered off, press and hold the
    Power / Side button
     until the device vibrates and the Samsung screen appears then release.
  2. With 'Samsung' still on screen, press and hold the
    Volume down button
    .
  3. Continue to hold the
    Volume down button
     until Safe mode appears in the lower left of the unlock or Home screen then release.
  5. To exit Safe Mode, restart the device.
