Google Backup and Restore

With automatic backups, app settings and personal data on your Galaxy A53 5G UW are saved to your Google™ account, making it easy to restore everything after a reset.

Before you begin

When a Google account is added to your phone, previous backups are restored. This can be done by adding an existing Google account to your already active phone or by signing in to the same Google account while setting up your new or reset phone.

Steps

  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Navigate:
    Accounts and backup
    Back up data
    .
  3. Do any of the following:
    • To turn photo and video backup on / off:
      1. Tap
        Photos & videos
         from the Backup details section.
      2. Tap the
        Backup switch
         to turn on or off.
      3. To change the back up account, tap the
        Account icon
         in the top right then tap
        Switch account
        .
      4. Tap one of the following:
        • Use Photos without an account
        • Add another account
        • Manage account on this device
    • To turn all backups on / off:
      1. Tap
        Other device data
        .
      2. Tap the
        Back up other device data switch
         to turn on / off.
      3. If turning off, tap
        Delete & turn off
         to confirm.
        If turned off, existing backups are deleted from Google's servers.
      4. To change the back up account, tap the
        Account icon
         then tap the preferred Google account.
