Transfer SIM / eSIM for Bring Your Own DeviceWhen you get a new device, you’ll need to transfer your existing phone number to keep using it without interruption. Follow these instructions to move your previous eSIM or physical SIM card info to your BYOD Apple® iPhone®.
Before you begin
Verify you have the following iPhones:
- Source device: iPhone 11 and newer (Source device is the previous iPhone with an active line.)
- Target device: iPhone 12 and newer (Target device is the BYOD iPhone that you want to transfer the eSIM or physical SIM to.)
Before completing the steps below, verify both devices:
- signed into the same iCloud account with two-factor authentication enabled.
- have the screen passcode enabled.
- connected to Wi-Fi, charged and kept close together while the SIM / eSIM transfers.
Steps
- From your BYOD (target) iPhone, open theSettings app.
- Navigate: .If unavailable, tapSet Up Cellular.
- Choose from one of the following options:
- Transfer iPad Plan
- Use QR Code
- Transfer Android PlanThis option is currently only available for the Pixel 10 device.
- Follow the prompts to complete the transfer.Remaining steps will vary based on the option selected.
- After your BYOD (target) iPhone displays the iPhone is activated prompt, restart your iPhone.
