Samsung Galaxy S23 / Galaxy S23 Ultra - Home Screen Settings
Here's how to change the default Home screen settings on your Galaxy S23 / Galaxy S23+ / Galaxy S23 Ultra.
Home screen layout
- Open theSettings app.
- Navigate:.Home screenHome screen layoutIf unavailable, touch and hold a blank area of the Home screen then tapSettings.
- Select one of the following:
- Home and Apps screensAll apps display on an Apps screen, which is separate from the Home screen.This is the default setting.
- Home screen onlyAll apps display on the Home screen.
- TapApply.
Home screen grid
- Open theSettings app.
- Navigate:.Home screenHome screen gridIf unavailable, touch and hold a blank area of the Home screen then tapSettings.
- Select the desired option (e.g., 4x5, 4x6, 5x5, 5x6) located at the bottom.When selected, a preview of the change displays above.
- TapSave.
Apps screen grid
Adjusting the screen grid to a higher setting (e.g. 4x5 to 5x6) reduces the size of icons to conserve space and display more apps on the screen.
- Open theSettings app.
- Navigate:.Home screenApps screen gridIf unavailable, touch and hold a blank area of the Home screen then tapSettings.
- Select the desired option (e.g., 4x5, 4x6, 5x5, 5x6) located at the bottom.When selected, a preview of the change displays above.
- TapSave.
- To rearrange icons and remove empty space(s):
- From the apps screen, tap theMenu icon

- TapClean up pages.
- TapApply.
Apps button
- Open theSettings app.

- TapShow Apps screen button on Home screento turn on or off.
Hide apps
Selected apps don't appear on the Home and Apps screens.
- Open theSettings app.
- Navigate:.Home screenHide appsIf unavailable, touch and hold a blank area of the Home screen then tapSettings.
- TapHide apps.
- Select the desired app(s).Selected when a checkmark is present.
- TapDone.
