Add / Remove Face Recognition

Use facial recognition on your Pixel Fold to secure your device and personal info. If you decide to switch methods, you can delete your face data anytime.

Before you begin

Steps

  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Navigate:
    Security & privacy
    Device unlock
    Face
    .
  3. Enter the current PIN, password or pattern.
  4. Do one of the following:
    • For first-time setup:
      1. Review the info then tap
        I agree
        .
      2. Review the info then tap
        Start
        .
      3. To help improve Pixel applications and services, read the info, tap the
        Keep Better Data
         to turn on or off then tap
        Next
        .
      4. While holding the phone 8-20 inches away, position your face within the circle displayed onscreen.
      5. Tap
        Done
        .
    • To remove face data:
      1. Tap the
        Trash icon
         to the far right of the face you wish to remove.
      2. To confirm, review the disclaimer then tap
        Delete
        .
