Set Up a Virtual Private Network

A VPN encrypts your traffic, hiding your IP and data from hackers. It ensures a private, secure connection on any network and public Wi-Fi to keep your personal information safe.

Before you begin

Secure VPN isn't compatible with Mac® computers and requires a Digital Secure Premium subscription.

Steps

  1. Open the
    Verizon Protect app
    .
  2. Navigate:
    Services
    Secure Connect
    .
  3. Select the
    Encryption tab
    .
  4. Tap the
    Auto-connect to Secure VPN switch
     to turn on or off.
    When turned off, if an unsecured Wi-Fi network is detected, tap
    Turn on
     to manually enable VPN.
  5. Tap
    Manage settings
     then select a protection option:
    • Security (Default mode)
      : Encrypts your data when you connect to unsecured Wi-Fi & visit websites that may put your info at risk.
    • Enhanced Privacy
      : Encrypts your data on safe Wi-Fi & secure websites & helps hide your location from any type of website.
