Add / Remove Fingerprint Recognition

Set up fingerprint recognition on your Galaxy Tab S9 FE 5G for fast, secure access. Remove saved fingerprints when troubleshooting or changing devices.

Before you begin

Steps

  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Navigate:
    Security and privacy
    Biometrics
    Fingerprints
    .
  3. Enter the current PIN, password or pattern.
  4. Do one of the following:
    • For first-time setup:
      1. From the Fingerprints screen, review the info then tap
        Continue
        .
      2. Follow the onscreen prompts to scan your fingerprint and repeat as necessary until the process completes.
      3. Tap
        Done
        .
      4. Tap the
        Fingerprint unlock switch
         to turn on or off.
    • To add more fingerprints:
      1. Tap
        Add fingerprint
        .
      2. Follow the onscreen prompts to scan your fingerprint and repeat as necessary until the process completes.
      3. Tap
        Done
         if finished or
        Add
         to continue adding fingerprints.
    • To remove fingerprint(s):
      1. Touch and hold a fingerprint name until a blue checkmark appears to the left of the fingerprint.
        If desired, select additional fingerprints to delete or tap 
        All
         in the upper left to remove all fingerprints.
      2. Tap
        Remove
        .
      3. To confirm, review the info then tap
        Remove
        .
