Manage Hotspot Settings

Turn on the hotspot feature for your moto g play - 2024 to share mobile data with other devices. Set up the network name, password and security type to enhance security.

Steps

  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Navigate:
    Network & internet
    Mobile Hotspot & Tethering
    Mobile Hotspot
    .
  3. Tap the
    Use Wi-Fi hotspot switch
     to turn on.
  4. From the Mobile Hotspot screen, configure the following as needed:
    • Hotspot name
    • Hide my device
    • Security (e.g., None, WPA2 PSK, etc.)
    • Hotspot password
      1. Tap the Password field to remove the existing password.
      2. Enter the password then tap
        OK
        .
  5. Tap
    Extend compatibility
     to turn on or off the use of the 2.4Ghz.
  6. Tap
    Timeout settings
     then select an option (e.g., 5 minutes, 10 minutes, etc.).
  7. Tap
    Manage devices
     to limit which devices are allowed to connect.
  8. Tap
    Managed allowed devices
    .
  9. Tap
    Allow all devices
     to enable or disable.
  10. Tap
    Add allowed device
     then do the following:
    • Enter the MAC address and device name then tap
      OK
      .
    • Repeat as necessary, then when finished, tap the
      Back arrow icon
      .
  11. Tap
    Device limit
     then select an option (e.g., 1-10).
