Enabling a SIM PIN provides extra security to your moto g 5G, helping to prevent unauthorized use and protect your personal info if your device is misplaced or stolen.

Before you begin

Enabling the Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) Personal Identification Number (PIN) locks the SIM card so it can't be used until the correct code is entered.
If the incorrect PIN code is entered too many times, refer to My Verizon Website - Locate the SIM PIN / PUK to obtain a new PIN Unblocking Key (PUK). If you have Prepaid service, contact customer service to get the PUK.

Steps

  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Navigate:
    Security & privacy
    More security settings
    SIM card lock
    .
  3. Tap the
    Lock SIM card switch
     to turn on or off.
  4. Enter the SIM PIN then tap
    OK
    .
    The default SIM PIN is 1111.
  5. To change your SIM PIN, ensure Lock SIM card switch is turned on, tap
    Change SIM PIN
     then follow the onscreen prompts.
