Formatting an SD card erases all files and readies it for use with your moto g 5G. This helps with troubleshooting or starting fresh with clean storage.

Before you begin

Ensure an SD/ memory card is inserted in your smartphone and that it isn't connected to a computer via the USB cable.

Steps

  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Navigate:
    Storage
    .
  3. From the Dropdown menu tap
    This device
     then select the name of the SD / memory card.
  4. Tap the
    3-dot Menu
     then tap
    Format
    .
  5. Review the info about portable storage the tap
    Format
    .
  6. To conintue, review the disclaimer, tap
    Format
     then allow several seconds for the process to complete.
