Change Default Mobile Number (Dual SIM Dual Standby)If you use two phone numbers on your Orbic phone, changing the default helps ensure calls and messages always originate from your preferred line.
Before you begin
Only one mobile number can receive calls / messages or use cellular data at a time. If two mobile numbers are activated on the Orbic® device and one is on an active call, calls to the other number rings through to Voicemail but the incoming call doesn't appear on the screen. After hanging up on the active call, a missed call notification will be visible, as well as a Voicemail "new message" indicator if the caller chooses to leave a message.
The primary SIM is the default cellular plan used for calls, text messages and data. Changing the primary SIM causes new calls and messages to be sent from the phone number associated with that SIM and data usage to be billed to that number.
If a line is active on a Second Number price plan (talk and text), do not select the Second Number line for data use.
In order to see the eSIM options, the device must be running the current software version.
Steps
- Open theSettings app.
- TapNetwork & internet.
- Tap any active SIM then do any of the following:
- Switch Default Voice Line
- TapCalls preference.
- Select the preferred number or tap 'Ask every time' to be prompted to select the line every call.
- Switch Default Data Line
- TapData preference.
- Select the preferred number.
- Switch Default Text Message Line
- TapSMS preference.
- Select the preferred number or tap 'Ask every time' to be prompted to select the line every message.
