Activate / Set Up DeviceActivate your Pixel 9 / 9 Pro / 9 Pro XL to get started. This ensures you can make calls, send messages, and connect to the internet.
Before you begin
To avoid activation issues, connect your Pixel to a strong Wi-Fi network and ensure the battery is at least 50% charged.
If using a physical SIM card, make sure a 5G SIM is inserted into the device before powering on then select the SIM as the default cellular data number after setup is complete.
If the eSIM profile fails to download, refer to Download and Activate an eSIM after device setup is completed.
Steps
- Press and hold thePower buttonuntil the Google logo appears. Tap theStart arrowthen select your language.
- From the Set up using another device screen, select an option.
- Connect to a Wi-Fi network.
- Confirm the correct phone number displays then tapNext.
- From the Phone activation screen, tapContinue.
- Select who will be using the device (e.g.,I will be using this device).
- Sign in to your Google™ account or create a new one.
- To copy apps and data, tapNextto transfer your content now.
- Review the Google Services and device backup options, then tapAcceptorTurn on backup.
- Review and accept the Verizon Services, limited warranty, and additional legal terms.
- Follow the onscreen prompts to set up additional Google features (e.g., Gemini, Google Assistant, Google Pay).
- Review the navigation gestures and tapTry it, or tapSkip.
- To finish setup, swipe up to go to the Home screen.
