Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ 5G Kids Edition - Activate / Set Up Device

Here's how to quickly set up your Galaxy Tab A9+ 5G Kids Edition.
If you need to transfer contacts and media from one device to another, follow these step-by-step instructions before activating the new device.
To activate this device on prepaid service, refer to Set up Verizon Prepaid Service.
  1. Ensure a 5G SIM card is inserted into the device before powering on.
    To avoid potential activation / service issues, don't insert a 4G SIM card.
    5G Devices purchased from Verizon include a pre-installed 5G SIM card.

  2. If powered off, press and hold the
    Power / Side button
     (left side of top edge when held in landscape mode) until the 'Samsung Galaxy' screen appears then release.
  3. Select the appropriate language then tap
    Start

  4. To continue, select (check) the following then tap

     to review the info before continuing.

      Must be selected to continue.

      Must be selected to continue.
    • Send Diagnostic Data (optional)
  5. From the 'Tablet activation' screen, tap
    Next

    If prompted, enter the account PIN then follow the onscreen prompts (see Account PIN FAQs for more info).
    If activating a new tablet on an existing phone number, ensure the old device is powered off.
  6. From the 'Easy setup with another device' screen, tap
    Galaxy or Android device
     or
    iPhone or iPad
     then follow the onscreen instructions.
    If you'd like a fresh start, tap
    Set up manually
    .
    If troubleshooting, set up manually until all testing has been completed.
  7. From the 'Set up Wi-Fi' screen, connect to a network then tap
    Next

    Tap
    Skip
     to add Wi-Fi networks after the setup is complete.
  8. From the 'Copy apps & data' screen, tap
    Next
     then follow the onscreen instructions.
    If you'd like a fresh start, tap
    Don't copy

    If troubleshooting, don't restore the device until all testing has been completed.
  9. Sign in to your existing Google™ account or create a new one.
    Tap
    Skip
     to add a Google account after the setup is complete.
  10. From the Google Services screen, select any of the options to turn on or off then tap
    Accept

    If necessary, tap
    More
     to review additional services.
  11. From the 'Protect your tablet' screen, select an option then follow the onscreen prompts to set up the selected screen lock method.

     to add a screen lock or set up face recognition after setup is complete.
  12. From the 'Access your Assistant' screen, tap
    I agree

     to bypass this step.
    If you didn't add a Google account in step 9, skip to step 14.
  13. If you want to access Google Assistant without unlocking your phone, tap

  14. From the Verizon Services screen, select any of the options to turn on or off then tap
    Accept

  15. From the 'Samsung Account' screen, sign in to your existing account or create a new Samsung account.

     to add a Samsung account after setup is complete.
  16. From the 'Samsung services' screen, select any of the options to turn on or off then tap
    Agree
    .
  17. From the 'Setup Wizard is complete' screen, tap
    Done
