Enabling a SIM PIN provides extra security to your Galaxy Tab A9+ 5G Kids Edition, helping to prevent unauthorized use and protect your personal info if your device is misplaced or stolen.

Before you begin

Enabling the SIM PIN locks the SIM card so it can't be used until the correct code is entered.
If the incorrect PIN code is entered too many times, refer to My Verizon Website - Locate the SIM PIN / PUK to get a new PIN Unblocking Key (PUK). If you have Prepaid service, contact customer service to get the PUK.

Steps

  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Navigate:
    Security and privacy
    More security settings
    SIM card security
    .
  3. Tap
    Lock SIM card
    .
  4. If multiple SIMs are present, select the applicable SIM from the tabs at the bottom of the screen (e.g., SIM 1, eSIM 1, etc.).
  5. Tap the
    Lock SIM card switch
     to turn on or off.
  6. To change your SIM PIN, ensure the switch is turned on, tap
    Change SIM card PIN
     then follow the onscreen prompts.
    The default SIM PIN is 1111.
