Manage Hotspot Settings

Turn on the hotspot feature for your moto g - 2025 to share mobile data with other devices. Set up the network name, password and security type to enhance security.

Steps

  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Navigate:
    Network & internet
    Mobile Hotspot & Tethering
    Mobile Hotspot
    .
  3. Tap the
    Use Wi-Fi hotspot switch
     to turn on.
  4. From the Mobile Hotspot screen, configure the following as needed:
    • Hotspot name
    • Security (e.g., None, WPA3-Personal, WPA2/WPA3-Personal, etc.)
    • Hotspot password
      1. Tap the
        Password field
         to remove the existing password.
      2. Enter the new password then tap
        OK
        .
  5. Select
    Speed & compatibility
     to turn the use of the 2.4 GHz hotspot on or off.
  6. Tap
    Hide my device
     to turn on or off.
  7. Tap
    Timeout settings
     then select a preferred option (e.g., Never turn-off, 5 minutes, etc.).
  8. Select
    Manage devices
     to restrict which devices are allowed to connect.
  9. Tap
    Manage allowed devices
    .
  10. Tap
    Allow all devices
     to turn on or off.
  11. To add, tap
    Add allowed device
    , enter the MAC address and device name then tap
    OK
    .
  12. Tap the
    Back arrow icon
    .
  13. Tap
    Device limit
     then select an option (e.g., 1-10).
