Manage Safe Browsing Web Extension

Protect your data and device from hidden online threats. Set up the Safe Browsing extension to automatically spot fake storefronts, block credential-stealing sites, and keep your device running smoothly.

Before you begin

A Digital Secure paid subscription is required to install the Safe Browsing Web Extension.

Steps

  1. Open the
    Verizon Protect app
    .
  2. Navigate:
    Services
    Secure Connect
    .
  3. Select the
    Browsing tab
    .
  4. Tap the
    Safe Browsing switch
     to turn on or off.
  5. Tap
    Protection from shopping, banking & crypto threats
    .
  6. Do one of the following:
    • To activate for Safari:
      1. Open the
        Safari app
        .
      2. Tap the
        Extensions menu
         on the left side of the address bar.
      3. Tap
        Manage Extensions
        .
      4. Tap the
        Verizon Protect Browsing Security extension
         then select
        all websites
        .
      5. Return to the
        Verizon Protect app
        Protection from shopping, banking & crypto threats
        .
    • To activate for Android:
      1. Tap the
        How to activate tab
        .
      2. Tap
        Allow permissions
        .
      3. Review the steps for each of the following permissions (accessibility, overlay) then tap
        Open Settings
         and complete the steps to turn on.
      4. Return to the
        Verizon Protect app
        Protection from shopping, banking & crypto threats
        .
  7. Tap the
    Display risk status switch
     to turn on or off.
  8. From the Manage protection setting section, tap any of the following options to turn on or off:
    • Shopping websites
      : Check for scams & analyze shopper reviews & site popularity to help you avoid fraudulent stores & checkout pages.
    • Banking websites
      : Identify & block fake banking sites to help protect your credentials from being exposed.
    • Crypto-jacking websites
      : Detect & block sites that secretly use your device to mine crypto, helping protect device performance, battery life & security.
    • General websites
      : Check websites for security risks & analyze search result links before you open them to alert you of & block threats.
