Apps use data differently, sometimes more than you expect. Follow these steps to control which apps on your Pixel 11 Pro Fold are allowed to use data in the background.

Before you begin

Some apps need background data. Restricting data may cause them not to work without a Wi-Fi connection.

Steps

  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Tap
    Network & internet
    .
  3. Do any of the following:
    • For mobile data usage:
      1. Tap
        SIMs
        .
      2. Tap the SIM name (e.g., Verizon, etc.) then tap
        App data usage
        .
      3. Tap an app located below the usage graph then view the usage.
      4. To restrict the app from using data in the background, tap the
        Background data switch
         to turn off.
    • For Wi-Fi data usage:
      1. Tap
        Internet
        .
      2. Tap
        Non-carrier data usage
        .
      3. Tap an app located below the usage graph then view the usage.
      4. To restrict the app from using data in the background, tap the
        Background data switch
         to turn off.
