Factory Data Reset (Powered Off)

Reset your razr fold - 2026 to factory settings as a final troubleshooting step. Use this method if your device is unresponsive or you can't access the Settings menu.

Before you begin

If the device is responsive and can be powered on, the preferred reset method should be performed.
Perform a factory data reset only if necessary as it removes your Google™ account and all data including system data, app data and media.
For devices with Android™ Device Protection turned on, it's imperative Google sign-in credentials are known before completing a factory reset with the device powered off. If credentials are unknown, do one of the following:

Steps

  1. With the device powered off, press and hold the
    Volume down button
     and the
    Power button
     until the Fastboot Flash mode screen (image of an Android with Start) appears, then release.
  2. Select
    Recovery Mode
    .
    Use the Volume buttons to cycle through the available options and the Power button to select.
  3. If presented with an image of a broken Android and No command:
    1. Press and hold the
      Power button
      .
    2. While holding the
      Power button
       press the
      Volume up button
       then release both buttons.
  4. Select
    Wipe data/factory reset
     then select
    Factory data reset
     to continue with the reset.
  5. Select
    Reboot system now
    .
