Maintain a seamless internet connection during unexpected Fios network outages by backing up your home router with a compatible smartphone on an active Mobile + Home account.

Before you begin

Cellular Backup needs an active Mobile + Home subscription on qualifying plans, linked with a One Verizon ID.
For backup to work, the Verizon Home app must be signed in and open in the background.

Steps

  1. Open the
    Verizon Home app
     then tap the
    Network tab
    .
  2. Tap
    Cellular Wi-Fi Backup
    .
  3. Tap the
    Allow backup from this phone switch
     to turn on or off.
  4. When turning on select, automatic or manual connection.
