Use the Find My AppThe Find My app is essential if you have an Apple® iPad®. It allows you to track your device's location, play a sound to find it nearby, or even erase its data if it falls into the wrong hands.
Before you begin
Find My is an app that assists with locating a missing Apple device from another Apple device or computer. If you no longer have access to an Apple device, refer to Locate an iOS Device - iCloud Website.
To see all the devices when you sign in to the Find My app, each device must be set up with the same iCloud® account.
Locate Device
- Open theFind My app.
- TapDevices.
- Select a device from the list to view it's location.
Locate Items (AirTag)
- Open theFind My app.
- TapItems.
- Select an AirTag from the list to view it's location.
Play Sound
- Open theFind My app.
- TapDevices.
- Select a device from the list.
- TapPlay.
Lost Mode
- Open theFind My app.
- TapDevicesthen tap the desired device.
- Tap the3-dot Menuthen tapLost Mode.
- Review the Lost Mode screen, then tapContinue.
- Enter a phone number then tapNext.
- Enter a message to be shown on the lost device's screen then tapNext.
- TapActivate.
Erase iPad
- Open theFind My app.
- TapDevicesorItemsthen tap the desired device.
- Tap the3-dot Menuthen tapErase.
- Review the screen message then tapContinue.
- Enter a phone number then tapErase.
- Enter the Apple ID password then tapErase.
Remove iPad
- Open theFind My app.
- TapDevicesthen tap the desired offline device.
- Tap the3-dot Menuthen tapRemove.
- To confirm, tapRemove.
Sign Out
- Open theSettings app.
- Tap theApple profile.
- Navigate: .
- Tap theFind My iPad switchto disable.
- Enter your Apple ID password then tapTurn Off.
