I’m not eligible for the teachers discount. What can I do?
Verizon offers additional discounts you may be eligible for:
- Your employer, school district, county or State may have a discount available through Verizon Connections.
- We also offer Those Who Serve discounts to first responders, military members, and nurses.
Note: Limit is 1 military, first responder, teachers or nurses discount per account. A Those Who Serve discount can’t be combined with the Verizon Connections discount or Ultimate Employee offer.
Why are only K-12 or postsecondary teachers eligible for this discount?
Verizon recognizes the contributions of all those who are in the service of education and of school staff, especially during these trying times. Many of our spouses, family members, and friends are with you serving our communities’ students.
Our Those Who Serve program is available to these groups across the US. This broad availability requires us to use nationally-standardized validation methods. We also must comply with regulations for those employed by local or state governments. As a result, certifications and licenses for select professions are required. We continue to review expanding the program to include other groups.
For those school staff members, aides and administrators not covered under the Those Who Serve program, other discounts may be available based on your specific school or district. To check, visit our Verizon Connections page.

You see your discount on your monthly bill after 1-2 billing cycles. Learn how to view your bill by visiting our Billing & Account page.
Note: If you were asked to upload a document, it may take up to 10 days to review and process your submission.
How long does the teacher's discount last? Do I have to renew it annually?
You keep your discount as long as you keep the qualifying home internet services and your status as a teacher makes you eligible for the discount.
