Frequently asked questions

  • Will the payment agent locations charge a fee?

  • Authorized payment agents will accept payment at no or low cost to the customer and will also notify Verizon within 30 minutes of a payment that was made. An authorized payment agent will post a sign stating that they accept Verizon Payments.

    Unauthorized payment agents do charge a fee and do not notify Verizon that a payment was made.

  • Can an authorized payment location take payments for all jurisdictions?

  • Yes, authorized agents can accept payments for all jurisdictions.

  • How will I be charged a fee for making a payment in person?

  • The payment agent may charge its own fee for each account being paid.

  • What type of payments will be accepted?

  • Authorized agents will accept cash (in US currency only), checks (no third party checks), certified checks, and money orders.

  • What information do I need to provide to the agent when making a payment?

  • You must provide the agent with a page from your current bill or suspension/denial notice at the time of payment. This bill or notice will contain your Verizon account number.

  • What information will be included on my receipt?

  • Each receipt will contain–at a minimum–the following information:

    • Unique agent identifier/ID
    • Date and time payment made
    • Unique payment approval/transaction number
    • Complete account number being paid
    • The amount paid to Verizon
    • The fee amount paid to the agent when applicable
    • The total amount the customer paid
    • Payment tender type (cash, check or card)

    If you’re making an advance payment or deposit payment, the receipt must state that the payment is for an advance payment or deposit.

  • Will Verizon receive real-time notification of my payment?

  • Yes, Verizon will receive notification of the payments within minutes of the payment being made at an authorized payment location.

  • My service has been turned off for non-payment and I just made a payment. When will my service be restored?

  • Your service should be restored automatically within an hour for residential customer, 4 hours for complex business customer and 14 days for cash only customer who pay with a check.
