Enhanced privacy and security
Your account’s privacy and security is important to us.
Verizon is committed to keeping your information and account private and secure. However, communications fraud is an industry-wide problem that is affecting many more customers.
Be wary of suspicious calls, phishing schemes and phone companies changing your carrier without your permission.
Protecting your privacy and security
We always consider the privacy implications when we plan and introduce new services. Calling services that are available from Verizon to help you maintain your privacy on incoming and outbound calls include:
Caller ID and Caller ID blocking services
Anonymous Call Rejection
If you have our Fios Digital Voice (FDV) service, you can manage your privacy and security using the My Fios app or within My Verizon.
National Do Not Call list registry
The National Do Not Call list maintains a registry of telephone numbers that cannot receive unsolicited calls. Once you sign up, telemarketers have up to 31 days to take your number off their calling list.
You can register your home or mobile phone for free at www.donotcall.gov.
You can also call from the phone that you want to register, 1.888.382.1222 (TTY: 1.866.290.4236).
